■Characteristics of the variety The unripe fruits are dark green, and are large green peppers weighing around 150g that turn red when ripe. The meat is about 5mm thick and has a very sweet taste, making it extremely popular for eating raw and in salads. The fruit end is 3-4 convex and sits well, with good alignment. The fruit color is very glossy, and both the unripe green fruit and the ripe red fruit are delicious to eat. Disease resistant and easy to grow. ■Cultivation points Unlike ordinary green peppers, colored peppers take about twice as long to harvest, and are harvested 70 to 80 days after fruiting. In addition, the trees are planted around April or May and can be harvested for a long period of time until around November, when the trees die. Seedlings are carefully grown over 60 to 70 days after sowing, until they have about 10 true leaves, thick leaves, short internodes, and good rooting.
