Seigantoji Temple is located in Nachikatsuura-cho, Wakayama Prefecture, and is the first of the 33 temples in Saigoku. The harmonious scenery between the vermilion three-storied pagoda and Nachi Falls, one of Japan's top three waterfalls, is particularly spectacular, attracting many pilgrims from all over the country. The Honji Senju Kannon of Hitaki Gongen is enshrined there, and the interior walls are decorated with painted murals of Kongo Shokaibutsu, Kannon, and Fudo Myoo. It was destroyed by fire in the war in 1581. The current tower was rebuilt in 1972. Tower height 25m.
