Rokuon-ji Temple, home to the Golden Pavilion, was built in 1397 as a villa in Kitayama, Kyoto by Yoshimitsu Ashikaga, the third shogun of the Muromachi period. The vast garden has many trees and a meandering pond, and on the banks of the garden is a gorgeous building with gold leaf on the outside called Kinkaku. The Golden Pavilion consists of three floors, with the top floor serving as a Zen-style Buddha hall and enshrining Buddhist statues, and the lower floor being built in the style of a residential building. It is said that the prototype of this type of tower architecture, which allows people to climb up to the upper floors and enjoy the view from above, is the Jokaku and Sanmon gates built in the hojo of Zen sect temples. The current Kinkaku was rebuilt in 1955. The main improvement of the completely improved 1/75 Rokuonji Kinkaku is that the roof structure has been changed to a frame method using laser processing. This kit has a plain wood finish that brings out the charm of wood, making it easy to assemble and recreate a beautiful Kinkaku. The assembly instructions are now easy to read with all pages in color. Completed size: Width 410mm / Depth 275mm / Height 215mm Accessories: Color assembly manual, 1 sheet of roofing material pattern *Paint and water surface sheet are not included. *This product is a wooden model that requires assembly. *Adhesive, tools, paint, etc. are required separately for assembly and painting.
