All aspects of the manufacturing process are controlled from the rover to the skirt coated finished parts. Extreme Racing conditions demand the strength and toughness that only forged pistons provide. Compared to cast pistons, forged pistons are tougher, more durable, and withstand the harsh use that high-performance motorsport applications require. Most castings are brittle and have no wood grain structure. As soon as the yield strength of the material is exceeded, it tends to fail catastrophe. Forging is grain-matched along grain characteristics, creating higher mechanical properties and resistance to impact and fatigue.
