Our Votex drain plugs are made in the USA. We manufacture each individual drain plug on a CNC machine that hand cuts our plugs from stainless steel bar stock material to our VOTEX crew. We assemble our plugs with care and pride right here in our home state of Wisconsin. This is why we supply drain plugs manufactured from genuine quality stainless steel (not pot metal) that will last for years. Aluminum crush washer included; yes, made in the USA. What makes our drain plugs unique beyond their flawless craftsmanship and top-notch materials is the core of our high-temperature neodymium magnets. Our plugs use rare earth high strength neodymium magnets that work particularly well in high temperature environments to extract unwanted iron particles from vehicle engines. VOTEX drain plugs operate at temperatures up to 150°C or 352°F. High-quality motor oil will withstand oil temperatures up to 250 degrees, but will begin to break down once it reaches 275 degrees. Engine oil has an operating temperature of 194 to 250 degrees Fahrenheit, so our magnets operate at temperatures well above engine oil temperatures. Neodymium magnets are one of the strongest magnets available on the planet. We use one of the strongest grades available. Our magnets are strong enough to hold over 2.2 lbs. This gives our plugs great strength and effectively pulls these unwanted metals out of your motor oil, extending engine life. Loose metal pieces in your engine oil will slowly begin to wear away inside your engine.
