Novel center cutout design allows easy mapping with pre-established survey markers. Includes 4 corner anchor points for securing to the ground. Numbering for easy target identification. Durable construction will last for years. Foldable and lightweight, making it easy to carry.
A great alternative to home-grown ground control points (GCPs) that meets the needs of UAV drone mappers. Thanks to its unique center pass-through design, this GCP can be used with already established survey points, allowing mapping to be performed after the surveyor has already taken the coordinates. Simply pass a survey marker through the GCP's 3" x 3" center cutout to perform precise aerial mapping at preset coordinates. GCP is a more traditional approach with a center flap covering the cutout, allowing centimeter-level precise mapping. The cutout flap provides a center point and an open center for rod placement, reducing the chance of puncturing the GCP. The 24" x 24" design makes the GCP easy to transport and store, and also allows scale for use when reconstructing maps. Four tie-down points make the GCP easy to keep in place even on the windiest days. This new iteration implements a numerical system to increase efficiency in the field. Numbers 0-9 are displayed on one square of the target, allowing the user to easily identify the target from the air. Additional numbering or lets can be added to different squares if desired. This allows numbering from 0 – 99 if desired. This iteration implemented the Harlequin Iron Cross design, making it easier to identify the center of the GCP.
