The excitement of the Nürburgring 24-hour race. Toyota genuine GR motor oil is born. GR Motor Oil "Trains cars, trains people." This is a slogan that has greatly supported Toyota's car manufacturing efforts as it continues to compete in the Nürburgring 24-hour race. However, it's not just the cars and people that have been trained by driving at the Nürburgring. They also created a new motor oil that incorporates the know-how gained through racing technology. ``Toyota Genuine GR Motor Oil'' bearing the name of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing is born. ``Aren't all engine oils the same?''It's the closest thing to car owners, yet the furthest away. Maybe engine oil is something like that. Anyway, there are so many symbols and numbers that it's hard to understand what they mean, and the general idea is that it's fine as long as there's oil in it, and that they're all the same. On the other hand, the number of customers who are starting to realize that each oil has a different taste is gradually increasing. It's just like noticing a difference in ride comfort and handling due to changes in tire air pressure, or feeling how the car's response changes when you turn the steering wheel through alignment adjustments. It can be said that this is consistent with the fact that there are definitely drivers with such "sensors". We want to create oil for drivers who can interact with their cars by using sensitive sensors. We want to provide our customers with oils that they can choose based on their ``preferences,'' rather than ``good or bad,'' like carefully selected wines and local Japanese sake. We want to deliver oil that utilizes the know-how gained through TOYOTA GAZOO Racing's motorsports activities. With this passion in mind, we began product planning and development of a new engine oil. What is the concept of GR Monitor Oil? ``Let's create cutting-edge products without being bound by preconceptions.'' This passion is not limited to those within Toyota who enjoy driving, but also involves seemingly cool and dry managers (who are actually secretly fond of cars) and female staff members. Ta. It's like a "resonance phenomenon." As the name suggests, "GR" is originally from Racing. Well, first of all, let's create a ``Nurburgring direct'' sports oil that can be used safely and enjoyably at events such as circuit driving events. ``Let's create cutting-edge products without being bound by preconceived ideas.'' If you clarify the image of the customer you want to use, you can create more aggressive products. That's how "GR Motor Oil Circuit" was born. The concept is simple: ``An oil with super high response that gives you great times.'' We have been working on creating a flavor through repeated discussions, mainly keeping in mind people who will be participating in driving events and 86/Vitz one-make races. In the past, when participating in circuits, gymkhana, and rallies, it was accepted that oil with high viscosity was used, but recently, like the fuel-saving oil used in eco-cars, the friction inside the engine has been thoroughly lowered to increase power. A type of oil that squeezes out is starting to be used in the world of top category racing. A detailed technical explanation will be provided later, but the ``GR Motor Oil Circuit'' has an SAE viscosity of 0W-20, which is low for a sports oil, and has generously incorporated friction reduction technology. On the other hand, with a focus on street driving, we have also added ``GR Motor Oil Touring'', which is 0W-30 and has high response to give the engine a smoother feel. We have created a product system that allows a wide range of customers to enjoy the technology directly related to the Nürburgring. Further training and polishing for commercialization. Can you really experience "super high response"? Will I be able to improve my time on the circuit? Can low viscosity sports oil be used safely on circuits? We have repeatedly conducted evaluations to provide clear answers to these questions. With the cooperation of teams and drivers participating in the 1986 One Make Race, All Japan Rally, and Gymkhana, we had them drive during practice sessions, and we timed and measured oil temperature and oil pressure with a data logger. Furthermore, by subjecting the oil drained after each ride to a component analysis, we have carefully confirmed that no damage has been caused to the engine even after driving hard. In addition, we conducted high-speed, high-load continuous durability tests using engine test benches used in commercial vehicle development.
