In the 2400s, humanity begins to terraform Mars. Megacorporations, sponsored by world governments on Earth, have begun huge projects to increase temperature, oxygen levels, and ocean coverage until the environment is habitable. In Terraforming Mars, you play one of those corporations and cooperate in the terraforming process, but you also compete to earn victory points that are awarded not only for your contributions to terraforming, but also for advancing human infrastructure throughout the solar system and doing other laudable things.
