[A brightly colored custom buggy packed with attention to detail] The Hot Shot II, which first appeared in 1987 as an improved version of the Hot Shot, which attracted admiration as Tamiya's first shaft drive 4WD racing buggy, was created by a graphic designer. This is a model customized by JUN WATANABE. The coloring has been completely changed from the original version, which was mainly black with yellow and orange stripes. A new design with brilliant blue and white stripes. Moreover, the polycarbonate body and rear wing are painted brilliant blue and have been cut. The original shape of the driver doll's seating position was revised to be too low, and the upper deck and roll cage were replaced with new parts, changing the position of the human figure to the position that would be expected in a real car. In addition, the body guard, rear guard, and side plates are designed by JUN. The chassis is a shaft drive 4WD that inherits the original Hotshot II. Equipped with differential gears in the front and rear sealed gearboxes to provide smooth maneuverability. The double wishbone 4-wheel independent suspension configuration, equipped with one front and two rear CVA dampers, remains the same, but the damper color has been changed from red to yellow. Plated parts are used on the front and rear wheels and uprights to create a metallic feel. A specially designed sticker is attached to the 540 motor to enhance the custom feel. The tires are hollow rubber low-profile types with excellent grip that are a mix of oval blocks and pin spikes.
