In Taj Mahal, players compete to curry favor with the Mughal Emperor and his entourage as they visit Indian states. Each visit brings new opportunities to gain the favor of court members and leverage that favor for great profit. Players will visit 12 states of India. During each state visit, players take turns playing cards to increase their influence or leverage their influence to gain benefits. After all 12 visits are completed, the game ends and the player with the most points wins. This game is a renewed version of ``Taj Mahal,'' which was announced in 2000 by German gaming master Dr. Rainer Knizia and was included in the recommendation list for the German Game of the Year Award in the same year. It features a beautifully illustrated game board, sophisticated new art, detailed new palace pieces, and new rules for two-player play.
