Stencils are a simple and inexpensive way to update your look with a particular sophistication - using different colors, motifs and patterns.

If you haven't already, you can use stencils in combination with the stencils to create a bright splash of color throughout your walls. Large stencils can be used to accent an empty wall, like a table or a skirting board near a sofa or wall with almost any extra space. Laser cut Mylar film and paint on it. This means it's easy for beginners to use stencils and create very high quality furniture, walls, floors, fabric, windows, and most other flat surfaces. Stencils are fun for the whole family, but be careful with the scratches. Stenciling... The two most commonly used types are acrylic, which can be used to stencil with almost any paint, and oil, which is intermediate. Preparation Make sure the surface you want to stencil is properly prepared for peeling paint. Description Spray the back of the stencil lightly with a spray of adhesive and position the stencil over the chalk line or registration mark. Paint: Dip a brush or sponge into the paint and wipe it off with a piece of kitchen paper. If you use too much paint and it bleeds off behind the stencil, the pattern will have very irregular edges. Start applying paint using an up and down stippling motion, working outwards at each stencil cut out and towards the middle. Clean Up: Wash your stencil frequently with hot soapy water, especially when changing the color. Don't forget to check for paint on the back of the stencil. To remove oil paint from your stencils and brushes, soak them in balsam for a few minutes.
