Follow the cable from the sensor until you find the 3-prong black speed sensor connector. The connector is usually accessed by removing the right-hand fairing and is located close to the right-hand engine cover on most models. Verification: 1. Separate the speed sensor connector (you may need to use a small flat head screwdriver to separate the connector). With the ignition on, rotate the rear wheels. The speedometer should read 0. If so, turn off the ignition and proceed to the next step. Otherwise, if the speedometer registers a non-zero speed, you did not disconnect the correct coupler and should look again. 2. After separating the speed sensor connector, plug in both the male and female 3-pole Jefizz hip harness connectors. Make sure the connector is fully seated. 3. Locate the RPM/timing sensor (pickup) connector. The sensor is mounted on the top or side of the crankcase. Follow the cable from the sensor until you find the 3-prong connector. Here are the connector locations for some common models: Monster S2R, Multistrada: On the left side, above the horizontal cylinder, zipped to the frame. Monster S4RS: Behind the left side cover under the seat. ST3: On the right side of the engine, zipped to the frame. 4. Pull the large rubber boot back from the plug to disconnect the connector and leave the three wires exposed. 5. Pass the black/green wire from Jefy's Hips through the rubber boots from the back. Make sure the wires do not touch the exhaust pipe or cylinder block.
