Removing the left side fairing or crankcase cover provides access to the connector. If the speedometer is off the front wheel, the sensor coupler is located in the headlight bucket. Verify: 1. Separate the speed sensor coupler (you may need to use a small flathead screwdriver to separate the coupler). Rotate the wheels with the ignition on. The speedometer should read 0. If so, turn off the ignition and proceed to the next step. Otherwise, if the speedometer registers a non-zero speed, you did not disconnect the correct coupler and should look again. 2. After separating the speed sensor coupler, plug in both the male and female 3-prong GFYSHIP harness connectors. Make sure the connector is fully seated. 3. Locate the pickup coil (crankshaft sensor) connector and locate the pickup signal wire. ZX-12R: 2-pole, black connector on the right side of the crankcase Yellow/Black (solid yellow with a thin black stripe)Other models: 4-pole connector on the left side of the crankcase, near the speed sensor connector Black/ Blue (solid black line with a thin blue stripe) Note: To locate the wire, look at the wire color on both sides of the connector. 4. Peel off the black sleeve to expose approximately 3 cm (1.2 inches) of wire. 5. Connect the GFYSHIP black/green wire to this wire using the supplied red wire tap connector.
