Comes with quick connectors (4 wire taps). No need to cut or solder wires. All connections can be made either under the fuel tank, in the ECU box, or behind the instrument cluster. The following table provides an overview of connections. Connect to the Jeffy's Hip Wire Red +12V Switched Power Lead Black Ground Wire or Chassis Ground White Speed Signal. Tap anywhere between the speed sensor and the instrument panel. On some ABS models, tap the speed signal anywhere between the ABS computer and his ECU box. Green octopus signal. Tap anywhere between the ECU box and the instrument cluster. Or tap the 2-wire signal line. Crankshaft sensor (pickup coil), anywhere between the sensor and the ECU box. Due to the large number of bike models and vehicles this kit is compatible with, model-specific wire colors and installation instructions are not included in this document. 1. The ignition key must be in the OFF position. Remove the seat and lift and support the fuel tank 2. Locate the speed sensor coupler. A. Most motorcycles have a speed sensor installed in the gearbox. Some have sensors mounted on either the front or rear wheels. B. Follow the cable until you find the speed sensor coupler. It is a 3-pole connector. Check: Separate the speed sensor coupler. Rotate the wheel when the ignition is on. The speedometer should read 0. If so, turn off the ignition, reconnect the coupler and proceed to the next step. Otherwise, if the speedometer registers a non-zero speed, the correct coupler was not disconnected and you should check again. Package Contents: 1 x Gear Indicator
