TAKEGAWA's tensioner arm is precision machined from high-strength extra-super duralumin material, increasing the thickness to increase the strength of the arm body and further increasing the contact area to the push rod. This reduces the possibility of caving in or breaking the rubber at the tip of the pushrod, greatly extending the life of the pushrod. The arm body has an oil hole to lubricate the moving parts with oil. The arm surface is hard anodized. ■Comparison of normal tensioner arm and Takegawa tensioner arm Because the normal tensioner arm is molded from plate material, the contact area with the push rod is small, and the rubber at the tip of the push rod sinks into the shape of the plate thickness. Also, if used for a long time with a high-power engine, the stock tensioner arm may become severely deformed and the push rod head may be damaged. In this case, the proper tension will not be applied to the cam chain, which may cause engine trouble.
