He looked down at the beach and saw human figures moving like dancers. As he approached, he realized that he was a young man who reached the seashore, picked up a small object and threw it into the sea. He still came close and said, ``Good morning. May I ask what you are doing?'' The young man paused, looked up, and replied, ``Throwing starfish into the sea.'' ``Why do you throw starfish into the sea?'' he was asked by a wise man. To this the young man answered. "The sun will rise and the tide will disappear. If I don't throw in, they will die." Hearing this, a wise man commented. "But young man, don't you understand that there are miles of beaches and starfish every mile? You can't make a difference!" He picked it up and threw it into the sea.
