Embossing is the process of creating raised texture designs in materials such as paper and card stock. Debossing is the same idea, but instead of raising the material, you push the material downwards to create a "sunken" effect. Our 3D Embossing Folder creates that 3D effect. How to Use the 3D Embossing Folder It's easy. Just grab your Big Shot Machine and one cutting pad to get started. First, for best results when using card stock, spray your material with a fine mist of water before placing it in the folder. This will create a deeper impression. Place the folder on the platform and place the cutting pad on top to complete the sandwich. Put one roll through the die cutter and your 3D design will appear. Note: If you want to use your embossing folder with a Sizzix Big Shot machine you will need an adapter platform. Just place it under your sandwich and you're ready to go! If you have already purchased our Big Shot machine it comes with an adapter! Magnetic platforms are not compatible. The platform is too high for embossing and 3D embossing folders so you will need one cutting pad for your 3D embossing folder.
