Seki City, Gifu Prefecture, has been a production center of giant Japanese swords since the Muromachi period. This is an art sword made by a swordsmith in Seki. The captain of the first unit of the Shinsengumi, who was a master of the Hokushin Itto-ryu school of swordsmanship. Contrary to his appearance as a skilled captain of the first unit, he was a cheerful person who was always joking and laughing, and this swordsmith has put all his effort into recreating both sides of him, that side of him as a swordsman and that side of him as a person who often played with the children around the barracks. The color of the handle is designed to resemble the white and light blue dandara of the Shinsengumi's haori, and the wrapping method is also distinctive, using a single-strand wrap.
