Origin: Made in Germany
Colour: Natural The detailed wooden figures and handmade animals depict the birth of Christ. Under the barn roof, Mary and Joseph pray for the newborn baby in a manger. A donkey and a cow look on with interest. Guided by the Star of Bethlehem, shepherds with their sheep and camels and the three wise men with gifts walk along the way. The elaborately carved wood surrounds the holy night. This Schwibbogen is lit with five candles. Schwibbogen (arched candle stands) have been an essential part of Christmas candles in the Erzgebirge for over 250 years. It is said that Johann Teller, a mine blacksmith from Johann-Georgenstadt, made the first wrought iron candle in 1726. The arch shape is based on the architecture of coal mining sites, where miners would light safety lamps and hang them in a semicircle on the wall at the entrance to the mine during their last shift before Christmas. In addition to the patented internal lighting, the cloud-shaped arch is a special design unique to this workshop and is used on many of the Schwibbogen produced by this workshop. 2-year warranty D
