Reproduction piggy bank. Made of cast iron. Hand painted. As pictured and works perfectly. Optional - Place a coin in the dog's mouth and press the lever located on the end plate. The dog will stop over the barrel through the hoop and deposit the coin. Fragile points:- Check the dog and shaft, barrel and hoop and individual side plates.

This trick dog bank was patented by Hubley Mfg Co., Lancaster, Pa. on July 31, 1888 and manufactured for several years. Later, Hubley switched to a solid base to reduce manufacturing costs. Hubley continued to produce the banks until World War II.
