Race-driven pistons are designed to be direct replacements for factory-style pistons with ring design and construction nearly identical to the original equipment. These pistons have hardened domes and Teflon coated skirts. All piston assemblies include rings, wrist pins, and circlips. Race-Driven recommends that the following preliminary work be performed by a certified mechanic before installing a new piston. If your old piston fails, check the cause and resolve the problem before replacing it. Air leaks and/or lean fuel mixture are two big culprits for pistons.
