WallTrap-me is played on a game board with 81 square spaces (9x9). Each player is represented by a pawn that starts in the center space on one edge of the board (in a 2 player game, the pawns start opposing each other). The objective is to be the first player to move their pawn to the opposite space on the game board. WallTrap-me features 20 walls. Walls are two space-wide pieces that can be placed in the gap that runs between spaces. Walls block the path of all pawns. They must surround them. Divide the walls equally between the players at the start of the game, and once placed they cannot be moved or removed. On a turn, a player can either move a pawn or place a wall if possible. A pawn can move to any space at a right angle (but not diagonally). A pawn may jump over a pawn if it is adjacent to another pawn. If an adjacent pawn has a third pawn or a wall, a player may move to the space immediately adjacent (left or right) to the first pawn. Multiple pawns cannot jump. A wall may not jump, including when moving sideways, because a pawn or wall is behind the jumping pawn. A wall can be placed directly between two spaces. However, a wall cannot be placed that blocks a pawn's remaining path to the edge of the board.
