In 1972, newlyweds Peter and Lena Dunn accept a mission to open a home for runaway girls in New York City. To keep the girls occupied, they started a small woodworking business. Girls carved plaques and gifts that soon became popular items at Greenwich Village's outdoor market. When their mission in New York was completed, the couple purchased woodworking equipment and installed it on their farm in Dalton, Ohio. P. Graham Dunn is a family-owned business that opened in 1976. In the early days, work was labor intensive. LeAnna and Peter were busy raising four energetic children and running a business from Reform Chicken Coup. For 20 years, Peter designed every plaque, gift, and furniture item while LeAnna managed the company's finances. Over time, the company began to computerize its engraving and laser operations and found that it could successfully compete with offshore manufacturers. Today, P. Graham Dunn serves over 4,000 accounts, most in the United States, Canada and the rest around the world.
