Our sinking tips come in 5, 7.5, 10 and 12 foot lengths. Both the 10 and 12 footers come in 3 different grain weights to choose from (the 5 foot and 7.5 foot come in 1 grain weight) Within each length and grain weight range, there are 3 different sink rates (Riffle, Run and Bucket; shallow, mid-deep and deep water). Above you can get tips with different sink rates but the same grain weight. So you don't have to change your cast to fish different depths of water. For example, our 5 foot micro tips - Riffle, Run and Bucket - are all the same weight even though they come in 3 different sink rates or densities. All tips have a line ID on the back of the tip (towards the head) and all heads have a line ID on the front of the head (towards the tip). This allows you to grab the connection and know which head and tip you have on at the same time. All our heads and tips have a strong welded loop on each end for easy rigging.

Like our 5' micro tips, they perform extremely well on 2.00'+ rods, plus or minus, with a 2.5' longer tip. Designed for 4-8 weight rods, they are perfect for standard 9' single handed rods. These tips come with welded loops on both ends and a line ID for easy tip identification. Like our other sink tips, these 7' micro tips come in three different sink rates: Riffle (S2), Run (S4), and Bucket (S6), which sink 2, 4, and 6 inches, respectively. This sinking tip can penetrate deep into the water bottle whether you're doing a swung fly presentation or stripping flies. Allows for a spey style presentation on a single handed rod. OPST has had success with rainbow trout, sea-run cutthroats, and smallmouth bass. The tips work equally well in freshwater and saltwater. For these fish, streamers are very effective and a sinking tip is the best way to introduce them. Depth is key to catching fish.
