Spring Outer Casing Set for Rear Derailleur (Made by Stainless) We have reproduced the spring outer made by Campagnolo in Italy from around 1960 to 1970. The coil is made of stainless steel with the same wire thickness and the same winding direction as the original. Campagnolo products differ from regular spring outerwear in that they are wound in the opposite direction. I'm just guessing, but it may have been an attempt to differentiate it from other companies' products. A special inner liner is also included to lower the resistance of the inner wire. One side is flanged (trumpet-like socket) to prevent it from coming off. The included stepped bracket and outer cap are also based on Campagnolo's original drawings, machined from brass, and nickel plated to prevent rust.
