Autumn Fashions - Cover of fashion by artist Helen Dryden, originally published in September 1921. 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle. Completed puzzle size: 26.625" x 19.25". Made in America. Target age: 13 years old and above.
The Autumn Fabrics and Original Vogue Designs issues were primarily devoted to "mode warps and woofs." In this case, it is the textile from which current styles like the bouffant silhouette are made. To illustrate the bounty and variety of materials available in autumn, Helen Dryden evoked from earlier times and painted two women walking through a park. Behind them, under brightly colored autumn branches, a parade of horse-drawn carriages driven by liver coachmen. This artwork was originally published in 1924 by art critic and Vogue contributor Helen Appleton Read in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle as "a stylistic sophisticated combination in Gay flat colors of French Prints, the spirit of the rococo of the spirit of the rococo of the 183 hoopscars, ts, slippers with straps, pantalettes, ringlets, patches and powder, parrots and French poodles, and the artist Helen creates a modern piqué.
