Melody Jane Dollhouse Spanish 17C Walnut Refectory Table Miniature JBM Furniture

1:12 scale - 16th century Spanish design was a unique blend of Renaissance and Moorish design. This table (or escritorio) illustrates how the two styles were combined with a simple square edge, plank table top and heavy carving on the table skirt and drawer fronts. Called a "long table", a term that once applied to tables of this size but replaced the inflected table which changed c 1540 after the abolition of the monastery during the Reformation, the table is supported by rings. The fronts of the four drawers are decorated with leaf carving and have ring style drawer pulls. Similar carving is repeated on the remaining three sides of the table apron. The table measures 63mm H x 152mm L x 2" W = 50mm wide.
