[Size] Width 51 x Depth 28 x Height 28 cm May Dolls and Carp Streamers have the meaning of warding off evil and are displayed on boys' first boys' festival (Tango no Sekku) Since this is a traditional handmade item, if you have any questions about post-purchase care, please feel free to consult with our specialized staff and craftsmen.

"Tango" has traditionally referred to the first day of the month, which is the day of the horse. However, since the custom of celebrating the festival on days with the same number on odd-numbered months, it has come to be limited to May 5th at some point. This day was designated as a national holiday as "Children's Day" in 1948. While the custom of bathing with iris to ward off evil spirits remains, the custom of displaying May dolls (May dolls) to celebrate the growth of boys has been passed down to the present day as a unique Tango festival event in Japan.
