Country of Manufacture: Japan Shigaraki ware is a pottery made in Shigaraki-cho, Koka City, Shiga Prefecture. It is counted as one of the six oldest kilns in Japan and is said to have a long history of over 1200 years. The name "hechimon" comes from a Shigaraki craftsman word used to mean "something strange." The various forms created by nature and the vessels have various expressions just like the individuality of each of us. This pottery is filled with the sincerity and playfulness of a master who values ``heterogeneity''. The traditional Qinghai wave pattern is comb-carved into a simple and modern cylinder shape. A thin layer of glaze is applied to highlight the fabric and design. Each product may differ from the photo due to differences in size, color, glaze, etc. Please enjoy it as a taste of pottery.
