The control section has three knobs, Gain (overdrive level adjustment), Tone, and Level (output level), which allow you to intuitively adjust and quickly exceed unity gain (signal is output at the same level as the input) with sufficient volume. The Ranger Overdrive can also be used as a booster, amplifying the input to a tube amplifier and easily emphasizing a contoured, dirty sound.
