Country of manufacture: Japan Accessories: Stainless steel tea strainer Hasami ware is a type of ceramic that is fired in Hasami-cho, Higashisonogi-gun, Nagasaki Prefecture. In the Edo period, it was called Imari ware, and in the Meiji era, it was also called Arita ware, based on the location where it was shipped. Hasami-cho, Nagasaki Prefecture, is adjacent to Arita-cho, Saga Prefecture, and Hasami-yaki, like Arita-yaki, has a tradition of over 400 years. Designed by Katsuhiko Ogino, who is well versed in various crafts such as ceramics, lacquerware, and Nanbu ironware, and has won numerous design awards. This is a large clay pot that can hold nearly 1L. The stainless steel tea strainer inside is cylindrical and more durable than regular bowl-shaped tea strainers, making it less likely to get clogged with tea leaves and easy to clean.
