Imperial Hobby Productions "1/700 Royal Navy Aircraft Carrier HMS Colossus 1944" plastic model. The Colossus-class aircraft carrier is a light aircraft carrier designed by the Royal Navy during World War II as the 1942 War Plan Fleet Light Aircraft Carrier. Initially, 16 ships were planned, but only 10 were completed as the Colossus class, and after the war they were used by the navies of a total of six countries by loan and sale. At that time, it was repeatedly renovated to operate jet aircraft, and even at the end of the 1960s, it continued to serve as an aircraft carrier in the navies of various countries. Among them, Minas Gerais (formerly HMS Vengeance), owned by the Brazilian Navy, served until 2001. Her first ship, Colossus, entered service in 1946 on a five-year loan to the French Navy (later purchased for approximately £1.5 million) and was renamed Arrowmanche. After participating in the Second Middle East War in 1956, she was converted into an anti-submarine helicopter carrier and training ship and decommissioned in 1974.
