Muramasa Sengo is a swordsmith from Kuwana, Ise. Muramasa swords were associated with the deaths of Tokugawa Ieyasu's grandfather (Kiyoyasu), father (Hirotada), and wife (Tsukiyamadono), and were hated by Ieyasu as swords that would bring misfortune to the Tokugawa family. On the other hand, they were used by Sanada Yukimura as the "Yakuto Muramasa", a sword that cursed the Tokugawa family, and were popular among anti-shogunate factions such as Choshu during the late Edo period.
