This is a rare (only near the helicopter) checkered pattern overlay. You can refresh your tatami room by simply placing an overlay. Please use it as a cover to refresh tanned tatami mats and prevent staining new tatami mats. The loom was modified using the manufacturer's proprietary technology to create a checkered pattern using only the original color and weave of the material. Recommended for those who don't want a plain overlay and want a more luxurious overlay. We use domestic rushes (produced in Yatsushiro, Kumamoto Prefecture, where rushes are produced) with a length of 110 to 115 cm. I am using about 88cm of them. Usually, the edges are strongly whitish. (It's not tanning, it's the color of the root and tip of the rush.) We take advantage of the different color of the root and tip of the rush to create a checkered pattern. (Therefore, the checkered pattern will only appear within the white part of the base. The middle part will be plain.) The longer the rush, the higher quality it will be. The tips of rushes are reddish-brown, the roots are white, and the center is blue (green). We use domestic rush (produced in Yatsushiro, Kumamoto Prefecture). Each Japanese rush is thick, has a thick epidermis, and has fine fibers, making it elastic and durable. Rush has the ability to purify the air, regulate humidity, and is resistant to stains. Hiba Essence, extracted from Hiba trees in Aomori Prefecture, is processed onto the surface of the fabric using the manufacturer's proprietary technology. Hiba essence contains hinokitiol, a natural substance with extremely high antibacterial properties. (It has antibacterial and deodorizing effects compared to unprocessed products.)
