House of Chess presents a set of Victorian Staunton weight 3" chess pieces inserted into a 14" x 14" inlaid golden acacia wood folding chess board/storage box. The chess set is constructed of Victorian Staunton chess pieces with golden acacia wood and boxwood, inlaid with a matching folding board/box and engraved with standard algebraic notation. It is one of the best high quality chess sets with a 1.50" (38mm) square sized board. The pieces play perfectly stable on the board due to their heavy weighted features. In addition, it comes with a billiard cloth green pad at the bottom to protect the board surface from any kind of wear. All chess pieces are individually hand polished with a buffing wheel to a semi-gloss soft sheen. The set includes two extra queens. The king measures 3" (76mm) tall and has a 1.08" (27.5mm) diameter at the base. The chess board is engraved with algebraic notation on the edges and is packaged in a velvet drawstring bag to protect the board from scratches and mishandling. The foam inserts are cut to fit the shape of the chess pieces, ensuring that each chess piece fits perfectly into the slot without moving in any other direction. No screen paints or colors are used. Approximate weight of triple weighted chess pieces is 1.16 lbs (528 grams), empty folded board weighs 2.93 lbs (1330 grams).
