VARI ADV variometer sensors calculate altitude from air pressure, with air pressure decreasing as altitude increases. This allows the sensor to measure altitudes up to 10000m with an accuracy tolerance of 0.1 meters. If air pressure changes due to weather, accurate measurements will not be possible.
