BUCK-TICK BUCK-TICK is a Japanese rock band that made its major debut in 1987 and has been active since the band boom in the late 1980s. The band consists of Atsushi Sakurai (vocals), Hisashi Imai (guitar), Hidehiko Hoshino (guitar), Yutaka Higuchi (bass), and Toru Yagami (drums). Their music has a style influenced by gothic rock and new wave, and their album TABOO, released in 1989, was a huge success, debuting at number one on the Oricon charts. The album was recorded in London and was the band's first overseas recording. The single "JUST ONE MORE KISS" released in 1988 won the Newcomer Award at the 30th Japan Record Awards. This song was used as a commercial song for Japan Victor's CD radio cassette recorder ``CDian'' and became a big hit. In 1990, the band's signature song "Aku no Hana" was released and debuted at number 1 on the Oricon chart. This song became the band's first single to top the charts, with sales reaching 221,000 copies. On October 19, 2023, the band's vocalist Atsushi Sakurai suddenly passed away due to brain stem hemorrhage. His death brought great sadness to the Japanese music scene, and in December a farewell party called ``THE CEREMONY - To Atsushi Sakurai'' was held at Zepp Haneda in Tokyo. BUCK-TICK is a pioneer in Japan's visual kei rock scene, and continues to influence many fans and upcoming artists with their unique music style and strong visuals! Safety Warning None
