Fourth installment of The Ideal Series: The Ideal Series celebrates the art of legendary horse artist Orren Mixer and his famous "ideal" horse breed paintings. Mixer's painting "The Appaloosa" was commissioned by the Appaloosa Horse Club and opened to the public in 1981. It is currently on display at ApHC's offices in Moscow, Idaho. This painting depicts a handsome chestnut blanket Appaloosa stallion standing watch over a herd of horses and foals in an idyllic landscape. In recognition of his work on this colorful breed, Mixer was inducted into the ApHC Hall of Fame in 1998.
