After years of experimentation in a shared laboratory, you and your fellow alchemists have succeeded in turning a common metal into gold. Now, all that's left is to perfect the formula. We experiment to find the perfect combination of metals that yields the purest gold. Aurum is a trick-taking game for three or four players, where two teams compete in a four-player game. After all the cards for the round have been dealt, bid on the number of tricks you think you/your team will win. (In a four-player game, the team's bid is the higher of its two bids.) During a round, you can lead with any card other than gold. On your turn, you must not play a suit that you have already played (unless it is a gold card). Gold always wins with the most played trump suits. Anyone who plays the lowest non-gold card adds a gold card of the same number to their collection from the supply (if available). All gold cards played in tricks are returned to the supply. A round ends immediately if a player fails to play a valid base metal card, does not have a gold card to play, or chooses not to play a gold card. If you win more tricks than your bid amount, you will earn your bid amount as points. If you match your bid exactly, you will earn double your bid in points. Additionally, you can earn points for the number of gold cards included in your collection. The player/team with the most points wins the gold nugget, and the first person to collect 2 nuggets wins!
