Ataka-bune is a general term for large warships that were widely used in Japan from the late Muromachi period to the early Edo period. Heavily armed, some of the largest vessels were over 50 meters in length, and had over a hundred combatants on board. In battle, it was propelled by dozens of rowers and formed the core of a fleet made up of small, fast Sekifune and Kohaya. It has a distinctive box-shaped hull, with a space at the top of the fence for bows and guns. The appearance of the castle-style turret giving the appearance of a ``castle on the sea'' is also depicted in a folding screen drawing by Mitsunobu Kano, which is an important cultural property of Saga Prefecture. This kit is based on the 1/10 exhibition model of the Saga Prefecture Nagoya Castle Museum and the Ataka ship depicted on the "Hizen Nagoya Castle View Byobu" (owned by the Saga Prefectural Museum), with Woody Joe's own considerations added. Designed in 1/100 scale. A huge wooden warship that remains in Japanese history is realistically recreated using plenty of natural wood such as cypress and Chinese cypress, including the massive Ise-style hull, tower tower, and 64 bows. Mainly wooden parts made by high-precision laser processing and woodworking machining, and metal parts are included for anchors and castle towers. An easy-to-understand assembly manual with photos and diagrams supports the assembly process divided into the hull, fence section, and castle tower section. *Paint is not included.
