The ``McLaren 650S GT3'' was developed based on the new ``650S'' as a successor to the ``McLaren MP4-12C GT3,'' a GT3 car with top-level performance in its class. Like the base vehicle, a 3.8-liter V8 twin-turbo engine is mounted in the middle of an ultra-lightweight "carbon monocell" chassis. Many aspects such as aerodynamics have been improved from the previous generation, and it won the overall victory in the 2016 Australian traditional Bathurst 12 Hour Race.
