Kinetic "1/48 U.S. Air Force F-16XL2 two-seat prototype tactical fighter" plastic model. The F-16XL is a prototype tactical fighter developed by General Dynamics and is a derivative of the F-16. It is classified as a 4.5th generation jet fighter, and has cranked, arrow, and delta wings to improve its armament capacity and range. In the United States Air Force's Enhanced Tactical Fighter (ETF) program that began in 1981, this aircraft was defeated by the F-15E Strike Eagle and its adoption was postponed. After that, NASA requested that the remaining two prototype aircraft be used for flight research, and after being used for flight research until 1999, both aircraft were stored at the Dryden Flight Test Center. In 2007, it was also used by Lockheed for flight research, and that research is still continuing today. Is the two-seat type a single-seat FSD (Full-Scale Development)? This aircraft has been modified from Unit 3, and its overall length is the same as the single-seat prototype Unit 1. If the F-16XL was adopted, the two-seat version would be given the name F-16F. *This product is a plastic model that requires assembly and painting. *Adhesive, tools, paint, etc. are required separately for assembly and painting. *"Plastic model" is a registered trademark owned by the Japan Plastic Model Industry Cooperative. Safety Warning Not applicable
