This is a plastic model of Amo's "1/48 AV-8S Matador (Spain/USA/Royal Air Force)". The Harrier is the world's first practical vertical takeoff and landing aircraft developed by the British company Hawker Siddeley, and the AV-8A is the GR.1A (internally named Harrier Mk.50) adopted by the US Marine Corps in 1971. Although the Spanish Navy decided to adopt the Harrier in 1973, they were unable to purchase it directly from Britain, which had an arms embargo against the Franco regime, and the AV-8A, which had been handed over to the United States and used for training, was unable to be purchased directly from Britain. The AV-8S was transferred to the Spanish Navy. The formal designation as a Spanish military aircraft is VA.1, and its nickname is Matador. The Matador was operated as a carrier aircraft on the light aircraft carrier Dedalo, formerly the Independence-class aircraft carrier Cabot. - Two types of ejection seats are included - Exhaust nozzle angle can be changed - Intake can be opened or closed - Photo-etched parts included *This product is a plastic model that requires assembly and painting. *Adhesive, tools, paint, etc. are required separately for assembly and painting. *"Plastic model" is a registered trademark owned by the Japan Plastic Model Industry Cooperative.
