The history of Hagiyaki begins when a potter who came over from Korea during the Keicho era opened a kiln as an official kiln for the Mori clan and produced Goryeo-style tea pottery. Its characteristics are the softness of the baked clay and its absorbency. The product is fired at high heat and in a relatively short time, leaving a clay taste, which gives the product a soft feel and retains heat because the clay is not baked too much.
