Previous car stereos and clocks had a dedicated line for memory backup power supply, and this terminal is provided for wiring that line. Recent car electronics products such as car audio and navigation systems do not have this dedicated backup line, so this product cannot be used. If this product is directly connected to the battery and the power switch is left on, the product will consume standby current and cause the battery to run out. We recommend DT830M, DT830L or DT831D for car audio and navigation. Current can be obtained from the backup terminal up to 10A for the 830 series and 15A for the 831D.
