The third installment of Uwe Rosenberg's puzzle game trilogy is a miniature garden-style puzzle game in which players place tiles on their own mountain board and compete to complete their grasslands. Let's hike through spring meadows in the high mountains without a single bit of snow. The flowers are finally starting to bloom, signaling the end of the cold winter. Day by day, the sun is getting longer and erasing the snow. The blue meadows are in full bloom, and the curious marmots are slowly waking up from hibernation. Spring has finally arrived in the mountains. It's the perfect time for hiking. Choose your route carefully. Keep an eye out for burrows dug by marmots and pack enough food in your backpack. Your chances of getting the Edelweiss Hiking Badge are slim if you're hungry in the snow. The objective of this game is to arrange the meadow tiles wisely to create the largest plane with no snow before scoring. Players select a Grassland tile from the active row marked by a signpost on the Hiking Map Board and place it on their Mountain Board. When placing them, pay attention to the holes in the grassland tiles and the burrows in the mountain board. You can place additional rock tiles by connecting burrows next to each other. When covering a burrow, the marmot must be placed in an open burrow. At the beginning of your turn, if there are only 0 or 1 Grassland tile left in the active row of the Hiking Map Board marked by a signpost, score your score. Starting at the bottom of your mountain board, count all completely filled rows and the first incomplete row to score, and the player with the highest score receives a hiking badge. The first player to earn two hiking badges wins the game.
