This vehicle, sometimes referred to as LAV, which stands for Light Armored Vehicle, began deployment in 2001. Unlike high-mobility vehicles, it is literally armored, which greatly increases its protection when it comes to counter-terrorism and protecting Japanese nationals. Because it is small and lightweight, it can be transported by air using C-1/C-130H transport aircraft or CH-47J/JA transport helicopters. There is no unique weapon, but various equipment is used depending on the purpose. The product is a commander specification equipped with two long antennas and smoke bombs on both sides of the rear of the vehicle.
