Mishimoto BMW N55 Baffled Oil Catch Cans are designed and engineered to reduce carbon buildup, a common problem with direct fuel injection N55 engines. The Mishimoto BMW N55 Catch Can Kit uses the proven engineering of the Mishimoto 2-port compact baffle oil catch can, featuring a bronze filter and internal baffles to separate oil from crankcase vapors. Mishimoto engineers designed a CNC-machined lid with large inlet and outlet ports to match the internal dimensions of the CCV hose. This baffled oil catch can protects your intercooler, intake system, and VANOS system from oil blow-by, maintaining proper octane levels and reducing potential explosions. The kit comes with two direct fit hoses that require no engine cover modifications and one direct fit mounting bracket that is not only very easy to install, but also attaches the can in a convenient location. Two plastic, 3/4" barb fittings connect the hose to the can. Also, like all Mishimoto oil catch cans, this baffle catch can kit comes with the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty. Our catch can differs from most air-oil separator (AOS) systems in several steps. First, our catch cans are not heated. This means that all blow-by, including low-octane oil vapors and contaminated fuel vapors, can condense inside the can. Also, most AOS systems drain blowby into the oil pan, and our catch can traps blowby and permanently drains it from the engine. If you've ever seen what's on the bottom of our catch cans, there's no need for water to get into the oil.
