Flex-a-lite fan spacer kits are best used with Flex-a-lite belt fans. Belt-driven fans work best when they are 3/4 inch to 1 inch from the surface of the radiator. Each time the original equipment fan clutch is removed from the engine, a spacer must be added to move it back into the "sweet spot" of the fan shroud opening. You can use multiple spacers up to 3 inches.
