UART Archive Sanding Pastel Paper If you're a fan of Ersta paper, you'll love UART. Many pastelists call Ersta so much that they were willing to overlook the fact that it was non-archival. UART is Ersta's modern successor - the same grit applied to neutral pH archival backing paper. All UARTs are available in four grits, from coarse to fine. As the numbers go up, the surface of the paper becomes finer - 400 is the coarsest, 500 has slightly less tooth, pastel 600 has a very fine grit with fine detail, and 800 is extra fine. Of course, fine grit won't hold as many layers as coarse grit - but 800 holds very fine detail and won't eat pastels as quickly as 400. UART offers a surface to suit all pastelists. The color of all UART sheets is a warm pale Neapolitan yellow. As shown in the photo.
